TOUR STARTS ON REQUEST | Gentle hills, sunshine, rosé wine, Kadarka, Bikavér, Mediterranean atmosphere, neat vineyards characterise the Szekszárd wine region. Two hours’ drive from Budapest and you arrive to a different world. Look around and enjoy the hospitality of the winegrowers, meet two of the most well-known winemakers of Szekszárd. The Szekszárd appellation covers the easternmost stretches of the Transdanubian Hills. The thick loess soil of the slopes produces round wines with elegant, fruity aromas. The Mediterranean influence makes the autumns warm and sunny enabling us to harvest at optimal ripeness. Learn about local red wines Kékfrankos (Blaufraenkisch), Kadarka and the Bikavér of Szekszárd (Bull’s Blood of Szekszárd) besides the extremely popular roses and some white ones.
